Modders! Get to it! I've actually had a thread about this with input and info from quite a few people. Things might get messed up in the config by that.
It might be that if nothing works the targeting of a player is somehow rebound to the keyboard, as that is always and active and valid input for Player 1. It gives the game a whole new level of communication I really enjoyed, but it is really superfluous in the long run. It was kind of funny as we quickly made a habbit of shouting out "Target X" whenever Estelle started casting. In our case, the player using Estelle (Player 2) got their targets assigned by Player 4 (Rita). There seems to be an issue of the game using the D-Pad of different players for targeting.
